Ancient Mariners Shanty Group (In Aid of St Andrew’s Hospice)

Join us at Docks Academy on Sunday, 8th November for an afternoon of sea shanties, folk music and fundraising in aid of St Andrew’s Hospice.

Ancient Mariners Shanty Group are a local not-for-profit group from the Grimsby and Cleethorpes area, performing traditional sea shanties and folk songs while raising money for local charities.

They’ll be bringing their maritime soundtrack to Docks Academy with two 45-minute sets featuring traditional favourites including Blow the Man Down, Pay Me My Money Down and All For Me Grog, as well as the appropriately local Grimsby Lads.

Opening the afternoon at 4 pm will be St Andrew’s Hospice band, Saint, before Ancient Mariners take over from 5 pm.

There’ll also be fundraising activities from St Andrew’s Hospice throughout the afternoon as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, including the Hospice CEO getting behind the bar as one of her 25 challenges for 25 years.

The music finishes around 6:45 pm, but you’re welcome to head downstairs to the Docks Beers taproom afterwards and carry on with a drink.
