The Docks Beers Update | June ’19

Hello and welcome to the latest update from Docks Beers.

We had shed loads going on last month. A new brewer joined our team, we hosted Forward’s 15th Anniversary celebrations and our beers Hard Graft and Never Say Die became available in the Lincolnshire Co-op. In June we have even more happening at Docks Beers including an unmissable tap takeover, more great street food from around the world and the launch of our very own online shop!

But before we talk about all of that, we’ve got something really cool to announce…

We’re in the Top 10 Breweries in the UK!

Stop all of the clocks… it’s official. We are now the 7th best brewery in the country – according to the Untappd app.

In only a few months we’ve amassed over 1,000 reviews, gained a superb 3.97 out of 5 rating and shot up the brewery league table into the top 10 putting us right up there with the likes of Verdant, DEYA, Cloudwater, Wylam and Northern Monk as one of the top breweries in the country.

We are absolutely over the moon with 7th place in our first year! But who knows, maybe in another year we’ll be challenging for a Champions League spot…

Docks Shop: Now Open

More exciting news – our online shop is now open and ready for your e-business!

That means that you can now buy cans of our craft beers and popular merch from anywhere in the UK.

Available right now in the Docks Shop are six packs of Hard Graft, Never Say Die and Graveyard Shift, mixed cases of 6, 12 and 24 cans, black and white tees, trucker caps, toolbox gift boxes, branded glassware and the new digital gift card.

Anyway, don’t take our word for it, go and have a look for yourself.

And now here’s the golden ticket. We said you would get exclusive offers by signing up for our updates. As a thank you for subscribing we are offering you 10% off everything in the online store for the month of June. Just use the code UPDATE10 where it says ‘Discount Code’ when you’re about to buy your swag. Now get shopping.

Street food coming in June

Get your filofax ready, because we’ve got some street food dates for the diary.

WARNING: The following includes some seriously tasty tucker!

On Saturday 8th June Galloping Gourmet will be parked up outside The Church, serving up delicious Gyro Greek and Mediterrean-style cuisine.

The Squeaky Beaver food truck is back with their Canadian delicacy Poutine on Friday 14th. Our friends at Tredici will be baking their to-die-for wood-fired sourdough pizzas on the Saturday and then on Sunday people will be able to sample one (or more) of Curry Jacks feisty curries.

From Friday 21st through to Sunday 23rd Slap and Pickle will be in town cooking up some unbelievable gourmet burgers and the dirtiest of loaded fries.

If you can’t decide which one you’d like to try most, perhaps you could just try them all?

For more information about what we’ve got on the horizon, check out our What’s On guide.

BrewDog are coming to Church!

Saturday 22nd June. You got it? Go and write it down somewhere, because that’s when world famous craft brewers BrewDog are taking over our taps.

For one day (and night) only, the Scottish brewing legends will be bringing to Grimsby with them nine of their most well-known beers… and a few you might not have tried yet.

The event kicks off at midday and people will have the opportunity to have a chat with the Brewdog team from 1pm.

And when you get a bit peckish, get involved with a gourmet burger from Leeds-own Slap and Pickle *mouth waters in anticipation* – their truck will be parked up just outside in the afternoon.

Docks Beers and Brew York collaboration

Controlled Explosion Now Available

We’re delighted to say that the super fruity Controlled Explosion is now available in cans.

This gorgeous 5.5% Raspberry Saison beer is the product of our first ever collaboration with Brew York and last month we launched it when the Brew York boys were in town for their tap takeover.

You can pick up the cans from our taproom and the Docks Beers online shop.

Fathers Day – 10% Discount all week

Not sure what to do for the old man this year?

Well from Wednesday 12th June up until close of play on Father’s Day (June 16th) we’re offering 10% off all take away beer in taproom.  But if you think Dad might want to get out of the house on Father’s Day itself, we suggest you bring him to the taproom. Not only will our bar team be playing their favourite albums from start to finish as part of our famous Sunday Service, Curry Jacks will be outside cooking up treats from 2pm – 6pm.

That’s him sorted then, right?

Solstice Party

This is another date you simply cannot afford to miss.

After their massively popular debut at Docks Beers, Waxnerds presents ‘Dockument’ on Friday 21st June. The DJs are Fatwax45 (Mark Newby) and James Gant. Once again the taproom will echo to some seriously naughty tunes from 6pm until very, very late as we make the most of the longest period of daylight we’re going to get this year.

And if the munchies strike hopefully you’ll be able to bask in the summer sun while you devour a burger from Slap and Pickle who will be cooking up a storm outside from 2pm until 9pm.

Okay that’s a wrap for another month. Remember, make sure you follow @docksbeers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for all the latest news and offers. We’ll leave you with some pearls of wisdom from a former American President…
