We are pleased to announce that our very own Jenny has joined the brew team as our newest ‘Apprentice Brewer’!
Along with the rest of the brewers, she’ll putting in the graft and making ALOT of beer. Jenny is no stranger to this and embodies that ‘Never Say Die’ mentality Docks is so proud of.
Her apprenticeship includes an 18 month course at the university of Nottingham, and at the end of this she’ll be a qualified brewer.
Her current favourite Docks beer is Whakahoa, our 5.1% NZ Pilsner (a good choice if you ask us!)
If you see her around the brewery, be sure to give her your congrats and say hi!
Last week we launched our 5th birthday bundle which has gone down a storm since it’s release!
Birthday Cake is a ludicrously thicc Imperial stout, brewed with actual cake. With luxurious aromas of rich, indulgent chocolate and a slick, viscous mouth feel, it’s liquid cake.
As well as the beer, we’ve also got a limited edition t-shirt, featuring a design hand drawn by local artist Penny Wood, just for our 5th Birthday. This is available in either Pink or Black on a 150GSM 100% organic ringspun combed cotton.
Also, don’t forget our FREE upcoming Birthday Party is this Saturday, and features live music from a range of local bands, plus ‘Birthday Cake’ will be available on the tap wall. We hope to see loads of you there!
You can still pick up our ‘5th Birthday Bundle‘ here, as well as the ‘5th birthday t-shirt‘ and ‘Birthday Cake‘ (while stocks last).
Our hugely popular Heritage Beanie have gained a stylish new colour! Presenting… Almond.
Our beanies are a cuffed, double-layer knit with embroidered Docks Beers church logo, perfect for keeping those lugs warm in the colder months. They are made from 100% soft-touch acrylic.
We’ve also updated our ‘Antique Grey’ beanie and anticipate this will be loved as much as our previous colour!
Bedtime reading, right here!
We’d like to say cheers to CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ales) for featuring us in The Good Beer Guide 2024.(The UK’s best-selling beer & pub guide.)
The Campaign for Real Ale is an independent voluntary consumer organisation headquartered in St Albans, England, which promotes real ale, cider and perry and traditional British pubs and clubs.
We’ve previously won the Champion Beer of Britain regional award for Cleethorpes Pale Ale, and we’re proud to be featured in The Good Beer Guide.
It’s that time of year again, our 2023 Winter beers are right around the corner. The only question we have for you is: Have you been Naughty or Nice this year?
Naughty, our new Sour Cherry IPA is the red in our ‘red and white’ approach to Christmas. This beer started life as a sour IPA made using acidulated malt and Philly Sour yeast. This was topped off with 40L Sour Cherry puree during fermentation for blush of colour and the beautiful flavour of cherry. The Result? A surprisingly balanced beer, starting with a touch of tartness from the yeast and cherry additions, followed up by the big and smooth body of an IPA.
Nice, the White in our ‘red and white’ approach to Christmas. A blend of both wheat beer and IPA, taking the most flavourful aspects of both beers. The hop character of an IPA with the malt, yeast and spice character of a wheat beer. This is a complex but balanced and deceptively easy-drinking beer. Perfect for a christmas party or for relaxing by the fireside and savouring.
These are scheduled to be released in the next few weeks, so be sure to keep an eye to our socials for their release!
